With more than two decades of work experience in the architectural field in the United States, Toygar Targutay has made significant contributions to the successful realization of a wide variety of global projects. Since January 2024 he has consulted with Arcsine, focusing on hospitality and airport retail design work.

Earlier, Toygar rejoined M CO Design in late 2021 as Senior Project Designer. Previously, he served as a Senior Associate at the prestigious Los Angeles branch of Gensler, after gaining valuable experience at KSS Architects LLP in Princeton, New Jersey.

Toygar’s decade-long association with Gensler (2005-2009 and 2015-2021) saw him play an instrumental role in the Lifestyle 5 Mixed-Use Studio, mainly focusing on residential, hotel, office, and retail mixed-use developments. As a senior designer and job captain his portfolio included 5th & Broadway in Nashville (2 220 000 sq ft), Palisades Village in Pacific Palisades (130 000 sq ft), Carolina Yards in Cary NC (4 500 000 sq ft), and Larchmont Village Retail Plaza in Los Angeles (17 000 sq ft).

Other notable California work includes the Ashes and Snow Nomadic Museum in Santa Monica with Shigeru Ban Architects, the Beverly Connection Condominiums in Beverly Hills, and the Starwood Eagle Lodge Hotel and Condominiums in Mammoth. His versatility extended beyond design as he adeptly handled People Director responsibilities within the Lifestyle 5 studio.

Toygar strives for excellence in fulfilling client goals and promoting innovative thinking in all his endeavors. His attention to detail has led to successful delivery of large and complex projects in both China and the United States. As a LEED Accredited Professional, he advocates sustainable design.

Toygar received his Bachelor of Architecture from Mimar Sinan University in Istanbul and his Master of Architecture from Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, Virginia.
